Groupon Directors Establish $100 Million Fund To Invest In The Midwest
In 2005, Lefkofsky and Keywell started Echo Global Logistics , a transportation and logistics management company that went public in 2009. In 2007, they seeded and co-founded Groupon , a collective buying site that now operates in over 40 cities, has more than three million subscribers and has raised close to $36 million from New Enterprise Associates and Accel Partners.
Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell , two of Chicago’s best-known tech entrepreneurs, plan to invest as much as $10 million annually in early-stage technology companies through a new fund dubbed Lightbank .

What Google Will Do in China (SXSW Presentation)
In 2005 Google started to hire aggressively in China, he said. is shut down, but continues to work with its mobile partners in China, R&D and sales continue to operate in China, and Google services will be unblocked.

Conductor , a New York-based provider of SEO measurement and optimization solutions, has raised a Series B round of funding to the tune of $10 million, led by Matrix Partners and joined by FirstMark Capital, who led the startup’s Series A financing.

Confirmed: Skype Founders Settle With eBay And Others, Get 14% Stake In Skype, Not 10%
eBay has just announced that it has reached a settlement with the founders of Skype , clearing the way for the sale of the Internet communication company to a consortium formed by private equity firm Silver Lake Partners , Andreessen Horowitz and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.

Fairness and How We Play the Game
Some recent papers from George Mason University (PNAS paper not yet free access) have found that players of a financial decision-making game are more likely to be fair in splitting money if they receive emotional feedback from playing partners. It is easier to be selfish, it seems, if we don't hear from our critics. It's also interesting to see that it bothers our insula more if we know that our unfair game playing partners are people and not machines. These studies have implications for the world of business and finance, but also our homes, classrooms, and online communities.
