Calling All Designers: Weebly Gives Users More Variety With New Theme Community
It’s a bit surprising that it took this long for the site to roll out the feature (Weebly launched back in 2007), but Rusenko says that they “wanted to get it right”. At launch, all themes will be free, but Rusenko says that the site plans to begin allowing designers to sell premium themes in the future.

Ten Futures
Drawing on Richard MacManus's 10 Future Web Trends , this is a bit linear, but has the virtue of identifying future trends, not things that are around today. Mobility We will again in the future become a species of nomads, moving in tribes and herds through society, grazing on energy and information inputs as they become available. Consumer goods - ubiquitous today - will become expensive and 1. The Pragmatic Web Forget about the Semantic Web.

Why the Semantic Web Will Fail
The future is not in the Semantic Web (or in Java, or in enterprise computing - all for the same reason). The future of the web will be based on personal computing. Don't get too excited by the title. But I do want to share a few thoughts... It was running through my head just now, the work that we were doing here in Moncton to work on an e-learning cluster.

ROI and Metrics in eLearning
Are the categories of cost different today from the past and from what the costs might be in the future? I'm working on an article around the use of ROI and metrics in eLearning. I did a quick search for resources and here's what I found. I thought it would be worth posting this list here. Personal Learning Knowledge Work Environment
Take a look at a few of the following for examples: My Personal Learning Environment Ray's Personal Learning Environment Reaching Nirvana in my Personal Learning Environment Personal Learning Environments - the future of eLearning? Personal Learning These would seem to be summed up pretty well by Graham Attwell in Questions and Answers on Peronal Learning Environments: Yes, I do have my own PLE, comprised of a 'mash up' of different desktop and web based applications I use for my everyday work and increasingly reliant on local and web based services. I've been reading a lot over the past few months around Personal Learning Environments and a lot of related material.

Stager, Logo and Web 2.0
Educators hope to find educational applications despite having almost no input into the development of future tools. Gary Stager offers an impressive assessment of the use of Web 2.-0 0 tools in learning by virtue of an extended comparison between those tools and Logo, the revolutionary e-learning system developed by Seymour Papert in the 1960s.

Setting Up Sunbird
And what this does is to set myself up for the possibility of better calendar syndication and integration in the future. This sort of functionality will be needed to create any sort of calendaring function for a future Personal Learning Environment, so becoming familiar with the concept and the potential is a good ide Note: This looks like a lot, but it really isn't.
