By David Gurteen I started out with a simple mission to compile a top ten list of people who regularly tweeted on KM inspired by this list Ten People All Twitter Beginners Should be Following .
And of course, like a good Tweeter I announced my intent on Twitter only to be reminded by @Nimmy that

Wouldn’t it be cool to let the wisdom of your crowd suggest things on the net that merit your attention? It beats threshing a barrage of chaff to locate the kernels of information you want. It’s a time-saver, time is money, and most of us could use more of it.

Leveraging the human network
Hopefully we can address this inadequacy in the upcoming conference Jay Cross has organized (April 21 & 22, 2009). Luis Suarez and I will be discussing “learning in an era of networked intelligenc Chief Learning Officer has published an article on Leveraging Human Networks to Accelerate Learning : “Networks connect diverse people quickly and easily…Networks can withstand stress and adapt quickly to change…Networks contain a small number of people that have proportionately more influence over the network than others.” 8221;

Ten Predictions for eLearning 2008
Prediction #9 => Niche Online Discussions Based on a series of events (success of small group discussions at eLearningGuild in the Fall, success of the virtual conference with George Siemens, discussion with Jay Cross and others about a conference for people with more experience, and discussion by Luis Suarez about a targeted virtual conference), I'm starting to think that the way to go is to have frequent, more targeted online, virtual discussions on particular topics. Prediction #10 => Knowledge Worker Skills - Just Beginning in 2008, Big in 2009 The discussion of knowledge

The Impact of Social Software within the Enterprise
Luis Suarez reviews these arguments and comes to the conclusion that “without social software becoming available within the corporate environment we wouldn’t been been very much involved any longer with such key and important disciplines as knowledge sharing, nor collaboration. The Curmudgeon’s Manifesto
I believe that Luis Suarez has started something in Curmudgeons Unite! :
As I thought about Luis’ post, I realized that there are a lot of social media applications that aren’t worth using because they lock you in or just make things more complicated for your content in the long run. Luis cites Facebook and LinkedIn: “Do you realise that by making heavy use of either of them you pretty much lose all of your rights to the content that you generate and therefore I guess I could sum it up in one single sentence: “ The more heavily involved I’m with the various social networking sites available out there, the more I heart my own personal business blogs “.

Break down the walls
Luis Suarez has suggested the merging of knowledge management and learning. If we don’t bust down the industrial-age silos in our organizations, their walls will inevitably crash down on us. Just ask the News department that had walls between print and the Web.

My Spring Online Reading

This spring I decided to try and get back into a regular blogging practice. You may have noticed this in February, March and part of April. Then I fell back off the wagon when sunny spring weather lured me outdoors for garden projects.
