OneRiot Brings Its Real-Time Ads to the Web
Until now, anybody who wanted to implement real-time ads from OneRiot 's RiotWise network had to get these ads through OneRiot's API and create a customized user interface around these ads. Some of the services that currently use OneRiot's ads through the company's API include Digsby , ÜberTwitter and a number of real-time search engines.

OneRiot Rolls Out Realtime Ad Unit That Refreshes To Match Trending Topics
Last year, OneRiot ventured into the advertising world with RiotWise, an ad format which places content in an emphasized position in their realtime feed. The search engine also launched a pilot program of RiotWise Trending Ads, a stream of ads that correspond to trending topics as they emerge across the social web, that has since been integrated into the search engine’s API. Google Launches Maps Data API
was expecting an API announcement and Google delivered one. Lior Ron and Steve Lee announced their Maps Data API , a service for hosting geodata. The Google Maps Data API allows client applications to view, store and update map data in the form of Google Data API feeds using a data model of features (placemarks, lines and shapes) and maps (collections of features).

The Guardian Launches Free Content API - But You Get To Build Its Ad Network
The Guardian newspaper in the UK has today launched a free, open API which will carry all the content the newspaper produces in print and online, going back to 1999. The “Open Platform” will allow allow partners to reuse Guardian.co.uk content and data for free, in a clear move to extend the paper’s reach for its content and brand. But the payback for all this free content It helps that the paper is owned and run by a charitable trust which does not have shareholders who would normally have a heart attack at giving away the family jewels.

Wine.com Uncorks Its API
Wine.com, a popular wine retailer with a fantastic domain name, is releasing its API for third-party developers to create and enhance wine applications connecting to the site’s e-commerce and wine database platform.
The API will offer access to Wine.com’s “Wine Basics” content, which includes information about the world’s major wine growing regions and grape varietals.
Wine.com’s database has detailed information on over 40,000 wines, including labels, wine maker notes, professional ratings, customer reviews, geographical information, flavor profiles and more.

Newspaper as a Platform: Guardian Launches API
The Guardian just launched a new API which will allow third-party developers to access and reuse the Guardian's content database in their own applications. The new API is part of the Guardian's new Open Platform , which, as of today, consists of the API and a Data Store , but the Guardian also announced that it plans to offer more services in the near future. This move by the Guardian comes The Data Store is a collection of high quality data sets which are curated by the Guardian and hosted on Google Docs.

NYTimes Exposes 2.8 Million Articles in New API
