Chris Pirillo’s “Pillars of Community”
At LeWeb in Paris (December 2009) Chris Pirillo articulated some underlying principles for creating true (virtual) community. Matt Buckland [1] recorded Chris’ points in text form. Chris started by saying “I don’t have an agenda; I don’t have an announcement…” referring, of course, to the number of companies that had been making announcements on the stage. I’m m going to make some comments on them now.

Wouldn’t it be cool to let the wisdom of your crowd suggest things on the net that merit your attention? It beats threshing a barrage of chaff to locate the kernels of information you want. It’s a time-saver, time is money, and most of us could use more of it.

FriendFeed Wish List Q1 2009
First, I’d like to fix what I’ll call the Chris Pirillo problem. Bear in mind that Chris is not the problem, but managing his feed is. Today I took the draconian step of creating an Imaginary Chris Pirillo channel and populating it with Chris’s blog, Flickr, and delicious outputs.

Gnomedex (and blog network Lockergnome ) founder Chris Pirillo doesn't think so.
That's Microsoft's side," said Pirillo in a phone conversation this evening. Addressing the fact that many in tech have strong anti-Microsoft feelings, Pirillo said, "They're always going to take that bias [against Microsoft]. A co-sponsored initiative from Microsoft Bing and Gnomedex will give incentive to developers working on economy- or ecology-themed apps this summer.

WordCamp!
With speakers like Philip Greenspun, Tara Hunt, Dave Gray, Chris Pirillo, and John Lilly, the tough part is going to be deciding which sessions to attend. This is a WordPress blog, as is the Informal Learning Blog , the Learning Irregulars Blog , the togetherLearn Blog , and several blogs I keep to myself.
WordCamp San Francisco is a conference organized by the creators of WordPress for users and developers. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.
