New Media Infrastructure Company Ankeena Networks Raises $16 Million
No word about who backed the company with this third round of financing, but Ankeena Networks was listed by one of its main business partners , Juniper Networks as one of their investments when they announced their $50 million fund recently, so that’s one name at least. million from Clearstone Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund and Trinity Ventures, so this brings its total to a healthy $31.2 Ankeena Networks , a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of new media infrastructure solutions, has raised approximately $16 million in new VC funding, according to a regulatory filing (via peHUB ).

Sonos Confirms $25 Million Investment From Index Ventures
And Index Ventures Partner Mike Volpi , a former CIsco executive, has joined their board of directors.

Sonos, it seems, is Sonos has now confirmed the Index Ventures investment we reported two days ago. Salesforce.com and Cisco announced a partnership today that brings together Salesforce.com's online customer service software with Cisco's strengths in IP Telephony. Source: Jajah In Middle Of Bidding War That Could Drive Price Up To $400 Million
Details are scarce at the moment, but Microsoft, Cisco Systems and Telefónica Europe (O2) are said to be looking to buy the venture capital-backed company for a price ranging from $200M to $400M. Jajah went on to raise $28 million in VC funding from investors like Sequoia Capital, Globespan Capital Partners, Deutsche Telekom and Intel.
It’s odd to see O2 mentioned as one There appears to be a good old bidding war going on for another VoIP startup, Jajah , following yesterday’s news about the acquisition of Gizmo5 by Google, a source in Silicon Valley with knowledge of the talks informs us.

Microsoft Invests Millions In Innovative Teaching Practices Research
Microsoft today announced that its Partners in Learning program is sponsoring the Innovative Teaching and Learning (ITL) Research project, which is led by non-profit R&D organization SRI International .
The ACT21S research was developed through a collaboration between Cisco, Intel and Microsoft.

Aravo, a SAAS supplier chain management tool just raised a whopping $27 million in Series D funding led by Cisco, with other investors participating.
