Ev Williams: Twitter’s First Principle, “Be A Force For Good”
Interestingly enough, Twitter saw its first burst of popularity three years ago at this very conference.
We think of it as an information network — different from a social network. We’re here at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas where Twitter co-founder Evan Williams doing a keynote Q&A with Umair Haque. Williams may use the time to talk a bit about Twitter’s upcoming ad platform .

How can we make conferences stay relevant?
but there are a lot of conferences in my past and in all probability, a lot more in my future. Now, don't get me wrong- I love a good conference. This happens more I find at conferences that I've been to multiple times. Then you start to question why you're there in the first place - think Up In The Air but for conferences. So I just got back from GDC and before that it was Learning Technologies 2010 , DevLearn before that and next it'll be Learning Solutions , IITSEC , LEEF (supposed to be REALLY good this year), maybe throw in some KMWorld , a little OGI and Gov2.0

Yes, Your Social Media Strategy Needs Design
In nearly every conference room across the business landscape it's inevitable that at some point the phrase "social media" enters the discussion. What if we looked at "social media" as a design problem? As someone who started a career as a designer (graphic design and user experience design) and is currently exploring business opportunities in social media — which I think of as social business design — I Marketers, PR and salespeople are among the first to engage in the discussions, trying to figure how networks can be leveraged to sell more stuff.

eLearning Conferences
Once again, Clayton Wright has been nice enough to compile an incredible list of conferences focused on use of technology in learning. Please note that events, dates, titles, and locations may change; thus, check the specific conference website . No liability is assumed for any errors that may have been introduced inadvertently during the assembly of this selected conference list. Clayton publishes this as a Word document but does not publish it as a web page. He has generously allowed me to republish here.

Six Ways to Find Social Media Talent
As organizations move their social media strategies from theory to practice, they discover a difficult truth they must confront: Finding the "perfect" social media talent is practically impossible.
Maybe they do know social media, but many don't. More broadly, most candidates for social media positions fall at the ends of a spectrum. To start, the field is flooded with thousands of self proclaimed "experts" who have reinvented themselves to take advantage what looks like a growing business opportunity. They need to be vetted.

Twitter Conference Ideas
Twitter has become a pretty great tool to help with socializing at conferences. Here are a few of the things we've been doing Twitter as Social Chat At both DevLearn and TechKnowledge , we created a hashtag and created a specific Twitter account that was the hub. There is also an interesting effect that people who are not attending still hear quite a bit about the conference and have some level of tangential participation. Using TweetLater and GroupTweet anyone who sent a direct message to the hub account then broadcast to everyone following that account.

Kevin Rose Talks Digg, Ads, Dead Trees and Cool Hunters
While he says he can't "guarantee" this type of social advertising will make it to Digg, it's certainly an attractive ideal. Social Advertising?
And although he likes the idea of user involvement when it comes to advertising, Rose noted that there are two problems with these forms of social ads; people are generally conservative and scared to expose their brand in that way, also, the tools aren't there to foster discussion.
Digg , which has spent four years trying to level the playing field and democratize media, will soon receive a facelift. According to Kevin
