What's Left For Startups At SXSW?
After those panels, pick up and walk over to the Hilton at 5pm for what should be a fascinating discussion about customer service in the world of today's social networks . This five-member panel including Jeremiah Owyang, CNET 's Caroline McCarthy, and executives from Microsoft, HP and Comcast should shed some light on how customer support has evolved "in a 140 character world."
It's Monday and that means that the Interactive portion of SXSW is drawing closer and closer to its close tomorrow after a weekend of great talks, panels, parties and overall hoopla. While

A Plea From Couch Potatoes Everywhere: TV Service Providers, Stop Screwing Up TV!
They're a bit more clever; taking a step forward to realize that perhaps their customers might want to type on a keyboard rather than hunt and peck through the awkward remote. With Dell's Mini 5, Apple's iPad and HP's Slate, we're at the precipice of a drastic change in TV watching, streaming, and interactivity. I subscribe to Verizon FiOS and have no complaints on the service itself. However, their forays into social media drive me absolutely nuts!

CloudPrint works by allowing you to "virtually" print your documents to HP servers. If you're unfamiliar with CloudPrint, it's a web service that allows you to use your mobile device to print documents to any available printer - and all you need is an internet connection to do so. Sponsor

Get HP's Dark-Themed Mini Look on Your Ubuntu Desktop [Featured Desktop]
HP has an Ubuntu-based netbook, the Mini 1000 Mi Edition , that brings a whole new look to Linux laptops. Unless you're rocking a netbook compiled for LPIA (Low Power on Intel Architecture), you can't get the slick looks of HP's custom launcher or other hardware-specific tools. But since everything's based on Ubuntu 8.04, any updated Ubuntu user can grab the basic theme, colors, and backgrounds from HP's remix. Luckily, regular ol' Ubuntu users can put some of the Mini's black-and-blue looks on their desktop. As described by an Ubuntu Forums poster , those keen

HP Upline Gets Disconnected, Heads To The Deadpool
HP’s Upline, a backup service that offered unlimited storage for $59/year, is closing its doors. Below is the letter sent to HP Upline users, who will have until March 31 to download their files. In a classy move, it looks like HP is going to refund any fees customers have paid for the service.
Well, that didn’t last long. Since launching last April, Upline has faced issues with extended downtimes - a pretty major offense for a backup solution.

The PersonAll-ization of Knowledge Work … On Your Screen
have written about what I call the “mass customization of work” before … I’ll Do It My Way - The Mass Customization of Knowledge Work , and Personalizing Collaborative Work … Individuals and Co-Creation . One of the interesting startups I encountered is PersonAll , being developed by a couple of young French entrepreneurs, Jeremy Grinbaum (President, previously of Google Enterprise search) and Jean-Patrice Glafkides (CTO, previously of HP Software).
In November of 2008 I spent several weeks in Paris, France speaking at a conference and with several Enterprise 2.0

Some of those people must reside at HP – or else they simply know that choice makes the world go around. small blurb at Within Windows describes how HP has (legally) done it -
Nicholas R. , mistakenly initially emailing Paul, noticed HP was somehow bypassing this restriction according to a bulleted claim on their Mini 110 netbook product page :
Do you remember when many people we stating that one of the really nasty things about the Starter Edition of Windows 7 was that the user was stuck with one rather nasty background, and no way to change it? I
