The Elevator Pitch for Enterprise 2.0
We have not been writing too much as of late about Enterprise 2.0. Perhaps also it is because it feels like so much of the discussion centers around the technology that Enterprise 2.0 It goes through five elevator pitches to make for Enterprise 2.0.
While it seems like Enterprise 2.0 Perhaps that's in part because it seems like the phrase is getting a bit tired.

Newsgator Acquires Tomoye - Deepening Sharepoint Ties
The acqusition makes Newagator one of the largest enterprise collaboration companies in the Enterprise 2.0 The acquisition buoys Newsgator's reputation as an enterprise collaboration provider, almost exclusively for the Sharepoint platform.
Microsoft seems to look kindly on Newsgator as a partner. Newsgator has acquired Tomoye , a social networking platform for Sharepoint. space and positions it as a vendor with the deepest ties to the Sharepoint environment.

Those who follow my work know that I've been attempting to identifying the success factors for enterprise social computing as well as trying to clearly understand the potential issues . These challenges are mostly not technical in nature and while good social tools are a prerequisite, real success lies in creating genuine change in the way that workers, partners, and even customers engage with each other in a more open, collaborative, discoverable way. Let's Move Away From Social Media and Get Down to Business
The other, more accurate story, reflects a trend toward a more holistic approach in the enterprise. Social media may only represent the tools we use but social computing reflects a deeper view of how the enterprise will adopt this new generation of lightweight technologies. Still, companies lack the capabilities and the discipline to develop operation that integrate lightweight applications into the enterprise. Sometimes, it feels like terms we thought had some meaning really don't apply as much anymore.
Take the term "social media," as an example.
