Favourite Workplace Learning Blogs
don’t like creating “Top 50″ lists so here are my current favourite sources of information and knowledge about learning, especially for the networked business environment. Informal Learning by Jay Cross (US)
Bunchberry & Fern UK/JP: Simon Bostock’s blog on information engineering, learning, and organizational development.
This list is a result of a series of tweets, initiated by Janet Clarey who referred to a Top 50 list of educational technology blogs. Shortly after that, Maria Anderson suggested that I create a list for workplace

Learning Flow: unfrozen
Not only is e-mail where knowledge goes to die (according to Luis Suarez ) but PDF’s are where entire articles go to die. technologies like blogs, wikis, podcasts and video blogs, combined with the availability of digital content, have changed those who were previously consumers of information into co-creators. pull learning [where learners become networked creators of knowledge], that we can pull information from a source when This is a re-publication of an article I wrote that was originally published in April 2006 for ADETA , but is no longer available on their website.

The Curmudgeon’s Manifesto
I believe that Luis Suarez has started something in Curmudgeons Unite! :
One way to keep information accessible is to use an open, accessible, personal blog as the centre of your web presence.
As I thought about Luis’ post, I realized that there are a lot of social media applications that aren’t worth using because they lock you in or just make things more complicated for your content in the long run. I guess I could sum it up in one single sentence: “ The more heavily involved I’m with the various social networking sites available out there, the more I heart my own personal business blogs “.

Luis Suarez
Wouldn’t it be cool to let the wisdom of your crowd suggest things on the net that merit your attention? It’s a time-saver, time is money, and most of us could use more of it.

Facebook Platform
Its privacy policies are questionable and it is giving out user information to applications willy-nilly. Luis Suarez - How to Boost Your Social Capital with Facebook mentions MyBlogLog . Great example, Luis. Shouldn't MyBlogLog link directly to Stephen Downes picked up my post on Facebook As a Learning Platform . He commented: To be clear, I do not think that Facebook itself is really a learning environment.

New Meme - Media I Consume - How about a change?
I got tagged by Luis Suarez around a new meme going around that focuses on "Media I Consume"... Then I took a look at the information contained in his post and saw that Nancy White had done one as well. For example - Luis mentions: Well, to start with, about 100 news sites from all sorts of different places, including TechMeme , TailRank , Megite , Findory , Blogniscient , diggdot .us I'm sure you all remember the Five Things Meme that struck the blogosphere a few months ago. My initial reaction was - "Not another one."

Break down the walls
Luis Suarez has suggested the merging of knowledge management and learning. With hyper-linked information and access to expertise, not only are internal departments of less value, they could subvert the organization’s future by not responding quickly and appropriately.
If we don’t bust down the industrial-age silos in our organizations, their walls will inevitably crash down on us. Just ask the News department that had walls between print and the Web.
