Knowledge Management, Scientology and Top Trumps…
I had difficulty stopping their game to continue the workshop with them! Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan and big user of social media, and I think it has brought energy, connectivity, serendipity and a real-time edge to the field of knowledge management. Knowledge Management Social media Web 2.0 A sneak preview of my up-coming column in the next edition of Inside Knowledge …
During my childhood, I wiled away many an hour with school friends and a pack of Top Trumps cards.

The 2nd Annual Social Networking World Forum takes place at the Olympia Conference Centre in London. It's SXSW weekend so you may be pretty burnt out on conferences - or just sick and tired of hearing about them - but if you're in New York City this week, don't miss what's sure to be a profound and fascinating conversation between Chinese digital activist and artist Ai Weiwei, Twitter co-founder and chairman Jack Dorsey, and ReadWriteWeb's Richard MacManus.

An Amazing Group of People: Have a Party, Play a (Social Learning) Game!
It was a nice group size, 10 women, that she had drawn from various of her different social groups. It was a service to social learning too, knowing more about what people do and can do, if anyone asks me for a good music teacher, I know where to send them. Remarkable what a little social learning exercise can do! Last Friday night I went to a birthday party that a friend of mine threw for herself. Because of this diversity, everyone knew somebody, but no one knew everyone, except for her.

How I use social media
This afternoon I’m spending a half hour on a Skype video conversation to share a bit of how I use social media. figured it would be good to exercise my memory a bit and unearth some of the key stories that led me to to my social media use today, and perhaps surface some of my patterns. The history approach also shows that while the term “social media” was not in play when I jumped in, the social use of online media has been growing for many I These roots are significant because our patterns of use, our ways of embracing or rejecting technology are

Social Media in Learning: Handbook, Toolkit, Workshop, Community & Blog
I've been presenting to a lot of groups recently where many of those in the audience were not social media tools users. Having talked about the importance of social media tools for learning and that, in my opinion, all learning professionals needed to be social-media-savvy in order to advise on their use within learning and performance support, I have been constantly asked by participants where they could go for a quick, easy-to-use and structured introduction to social media and its use in learning. I have therefore decided to revive my old Guide to Social Learning,

Social Media Planning and Evaluation for NGOs
I’ve been co-designing and c0-facilitating a number of workshops for the CGIAR and FAO over the past few years about knowledge sharing, and more recently, this phenomenon people call “social media.” Social Media Strategy Planning & Measurement - What’s Working?

Dimensions of Social Groups
One resource that I recommend is a set of proceedings from a workshop on “community-based learning” at the International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS2004) held on June 22, 2004 at the University of California at Los Angeles, especially the paper by Markus Rohde and David Williamson Shaffer entitled “ Us, Ourselves, and We: Thoughts about Social (Self-) Categorization. ”
The authors note that not all social groups are equal, and that it is useful to distinguish among groups by several salient characteristics. In preparation for a webinar that I am presenting on Wednesday, May 20 , I have been researching and reading the academic literature on collective intelligence.
